There may be thousands of other blogs, newspapers, and journalists as a whole covering this brilliant speech given by Senator Obama today; and though I may be late I still wish to share this profound moment in our history with the readers of this blog.
Never before have I seen a politician speak with such frankness, openness, respect, and courage all while maintaining a sense of compassion and understanding especially on an issue so tender as race. For many years, we as Americans have ignored and let fester the frustrations and anxieties that exist in each race living in this great country. We assumed that the situations our ancestors experienced and the pent up aggressions that could result from these experiences would not have a deep impact upon how our own lives were shaped, all the while letting the divide among us grow larger.
Senator Obama is correct, we do all struggle to provide a better life for our children and grandchildren. It is until we realize that though we may have taken different paths to come to where we are, we all as humans experience hardships and turmoil, happiness and excitement; that we will be able to make the correct strides towards an improved Health Care system, Education system, and other areas which affect the many not the few. It is necessary for all Americans of all races, creeds, and social status’s to realize this so we may come together to fix the problems that lie before us.
This speech may very well become one of the most famous and influential speeches in our American History simply for its candor, sincerity, and thoughtfulness all qualities for which I respect Senator Obama. It is a shame that this is an outlier to Presidential politics but we have a chance to vote a man with these and other endearing qualities into office, if we so choose. This level of honesty and sincerity in a politician has caught the attention of millions of Americans more than any other issue, and we owe it to this great country to give this man the opportunity to lead our country into a united future. As Lincoln said in his inaugural speech to the U.S. Senate, “A house divided against itself cannot stand” the same is also true for the people of this country.
There are many other facets of this speech for which I do not have the time to delve into. Assuredly though you can take the time to analyze the context and determine it’s overall value on your own. Thank you for your time and make certain everyone you knows witnesses this remarkable event.

Sorry to post here but couldn’t find another way to contact you. Seems I hit a nerve over at the PUMA website when I suggested the whole PUMA movement is a hoax and nothing more than a front for Rove and company. They deleted my post (I still have the text) and it seems I’ve been blocked from posting anything new. They’ve been found out!
